Pope Leo XIV became the first American elected Pope earlier this year, and now we’re learning more about him.
The 69-year-old, whose birth name is Robert Francis Prevost, was born in Chicago, Ill., and over a month after he became the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church, The New York Times looked into his family tree.
The Pope’s roots go back to Italy, Spain and France, with some relocating to Quebec, Canada, in the 1650s.
It was revealed that a handful of celebrities are related to the Pope through distant relatives, with four stars also sharing the relative of Louis Boucher de Grandpre.
