Bravo’s Love Hotel has closed shop for the season, and the results of the final choices are mostly what viewers could expect. But the one shocking surprise is that Luann De Lesseps‘ kooky beau James is still effusively “in love” with the countess turned cabaret star. Although Luann expressed doubt about the pair making the long-distance lifestyle work, it seems that since the Love Hotel cameras went down, the couple have been making the most of their relationship. The other ladies’ match-ups went down in the Love Hotel finale pretty much exactly as expected, but when it comes to Luann, it seems the summer fling has turned into a persistent fixation.
Luann’s ‘Love Hotel’ Ending Was the Biggest Shocker
Luann was quite persistent in her faith in James throughout the season, despite the fact that many of the hopeful bachelors were quick to point out that James’ excitement about Luann bordered on love-bombing. But truly, anyone who has watched Luann’s progression from an elitist author of a book on social etiquette, to a boozy cabaret star should know that the reality diva loves nothing more than attention. However, the cabaret singer also knows how to steal a scene, and it wouldn’t have been surprising if she made a dramatic pivot at the end of the season, just to pull focus.
Luann’s choice to stick with James, and make the long-distance work after the reality series came to an end, despite her initial hesitation to do so, shows maturity and lends credence to the thought there might be a genuine connection between the two lovebirds. It is also a considerable surprise, considering Love Hotel seemed like a fun new extension to the dating world for The Real Housewives franchise, rather than a series that would produce a meaningful lasting connection.
Bravo’s Daily Dish recently caught up with James, who spoke about having celebrated Luann’s birthday with her in New York in May, and the way his affection for her grew over time. Luann sparked engagement rumors early in June when she was photographed in Sag Harbor, New York with a large sparkling ring on her left hand, which she later confirmed was an aquamarine and not a gift from James. It seems the countess is playing coy about the relationship, assuring Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she is still free to date other men, whereas James, true to his appearance on Love Hotel, is already shouting his love from the rooftops.

Ashley needs therapy, not ‘Bravo’s Love Hotel.’
The Other ‘Love Hotel’ Match-Ups Were More Predictable
Otherwise, the results of the final match-ups were pretty as expected. Shannon Beador chose to give Earl another “another” chance, and even chose to check out from Love Hotel with the tempestuous “vocational expert.” But after dating for a few months, Shannon saw what viewers were screaming at the screens by the end of the season, that Earl was not going to work out long term.
Gizelle Bryant did a twist at the end and chose young Theo over steadfast Phil, but when Theo “lost” his cell phone their connection also went M.I.A. So Gizelle did another pivot, and re-connected with Phil once the series was over. And Ashley Darby indeed tried to solve her daddy issues by choosing Ralph over Wale, but when their connection “fizzled,” production released shots of text messages showing Ashley and Wale had continued getting to know each other after the cameras were down. Love Hotel was a light summer reality TV romp, and the relationships not lasting isn’t surprising. What is surprising is the fact that Luann and James might have possibly beat the odds.
