Elon Musk Continues to Insist He Is Not on Drugs, Now With Screenshot of Drug Test

After The New York Times reported that Elon Musk was using a cornucopia of drugs while he worked to get Donald Trump elected—including ketamine, ecstasy, shrooms, and seemingly Adderall—the richest man in the world accused the paper of “lying” its “ass off” and angrily insisted, “I am NOT taking drugs!” Unfortunately, that denial apparently did not convince the president, who reportedly described Musk as a “big-time drug addict” in the days following their online feud. Now Musk is back to prove to the world that he absolutely did not take so much ketamine on the campaign trail that, in the words of the Times, “it was affecting his bladder, a known effect of chronic use.” How? With a screenshot of a urine drug test, of course.

Taking to X at 3:44 a.m. on Tuesday, Musk posted the results of a test for a variety of drugs, including ketamine, ecstasy, cocaine, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, and PCP. All of the results read “negative.” According to the screenshot, the “sample” was collected on June 11, 12 days after the Times’ bombshell story. Musk did not explain why he waited to take the test; in fact, he explained nothing at all, simply writing: “lol.”

The Wall Street Journal reported last year that Musk had used LSD, ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine, and mushrooms, and that some executives at his companies were worried about his drug use. Musk did not respond to the Journal’s requests for comment; his attorney told the outlet that Musk is “regularly and randomly drug tested at SpaceX and has never failed a test.” In its story last month, the Times reported that, according to sources familiar with the matter, “Musk has received advance warning of the tests.”

The Times’ reporting came just days before Musk left his job overseeing DOGE, the group formed to take a wrecking ball to the federal government, and whose work has reportedly led to a scramble to rehire many of the people who were fired. It also preceded the online tantrum between Musk and Trump, wherein, among other things, the former accused the latter of being “in the Epstein files.” Musk wrote on X last week that he regretted “some” of his posts regarding the president, saying, nonspecifically, that they “went too far.”

In response to Musk’s sharing of drug test results, the Times wrote: “Elon Musk is continuing to lash out because he doesn’t like our reporting. Nothing that he’s said or presented since our article about his drug use during the presidential campaign was published contradicts what we uncovered. We stand by our journalism.”

Nothing to see here, just ICE arresting another Democratic politician
